Touch a Truck 2012

This was the first year we attended the Touch a Truck event at The Orleans. It is a super cool event where a bunch of vehicles are free for kids to explore. They get to beep horns, talk on radios and get in the drivers seat. Maddox had a really good time on the fire trucks, police motorcycles, inside the hot air balloon, bus, tractor and many more. The only downside is there were a jillion children and with all those germs Maddox picked some up and he brought a cold home which then infected us all. We were all sick at once for about 4 days BLAH. Luckily i can now say we are all doing better and will for sure attend this event next year.

No More Binkie

We are finally rid of Maddox’s binkie YAY. We had been discussing how we were gonna get rid of one of Maddy’s favorite things when one day Maddox was standing in the bathroom as Larry was finishing up. Maddox had his bink in his mouth and wanted to flush for Lar, so as the toilet flushed the bink fell in and bye bye it went. So we hid the rest of them and there were no more binks. Maddox did very well with this info. He even will take you to the potty and inform you that the bink is in the potty with the poo poo and pee. Here is a video of him explaining to Gigi and Papa what happened.

2 Brothers

2 Brothers is what Maddox calls our new double stroller, which is awesome by the way. Maddox really enjoys being a big brother to Dylan and they have a blast together. Even though Dylan is still so little, he just watches Maddy in awe and smiles and laughs at him all the time. Here are some adorable pictures of 2 brothers.

Dylan’s 4th Month

A lot has happened since Dylan has been on this earth for 4 months. But this month was extra exciting. He got to eat real food. We started with apples and moved onto sweet potatoes, bananas, peaches and carrots so far. He sure does like it. He is still rolling around and now likes hanging out in his excersaucer.

Dylan Rolls Over

Dylan has a week before he turns 4 months and time has flown by. He has a play mat that he lies under and also does tummy time on which he sometimes enjoys but most of the time doesnt. Well the other day he was lying on his back and decided to roll his little chubby self over to his tummy and hasnt stopped since. We have a little rolly polly on our hands. Our little man is starting on his journey to being independant like his big brother. I dont think Mommy is quite ready for that yet!

Big Bear Trip

A couple of weekends ago we went to Big Bear with Gramme, Poppa Scott and Cousin Amanda. We stayed in a cabin and enjoyed some much missed snow. Maddox LOVED every second of playing in the cold white stuff that we arent used to anymore since we moved to Vegas. We got to bring the dogs too who also loved it! It was a really nice much needed getaway.

The Color Run

Lar has been running reliously for about a year now doing 5Ks, 10Ks and a half marathon. I was pregnant for a majority of that year so when The Color Run came up and he asked if i wanted to do it i said YES. Now i am by no means a runner. I actually hate running. So i started running and actually kind of liked it. So i kind trained for about 7 weeks and completed my first 5K. The Color Run was a blast. It was a 5K through downtown LV and at every Kilometer they blast you with a different color powder so at the end it looks like an explosion of color. SO FUN and cannot wait to do it again next year. What a great way to break into running.

Dylan is 2 months

Dylan just turned 2 months old. At his 2 month check up he weighed 13 lbs 8 oz and was 23 inches long. These 2 months have flown by. Maddy is being a wonderful big brother and it is so sweet seeing how gentle he is with Dylan. I just know they will soon be the best of friends.

Completing the Rock and Roll Half Marathon

When Lar started working at Zappos a year ago he set a personal goal of completing the Zappos Rock and Roll Half Marathon in Dec 2011. He started running and training, doing 5Ks and 10Ks and then it was time for the 13.1 mile run at night on the LV Strip. Rob came down from Reno to run with him and show support which was awesome. This year they held the race at night, and it was freezing. The boys ran the long course and finished in less than 3 hours. What an amazing accomplishment. Good job Daddy, we are so proud of you.
